Hey guys, I've kept and bred japanese rice fish in aquariums since 2019. Now I've finally moved out of my old apartment into a new house and spring is right around the corner here in the Midwest, so I plan to try keeping these awesome fish outdoors in a "breeding rack". I will be plumbing my tubs with some PVC overflows and tubing from my outdoor hose running to each tub for easy water changes. I also want to have some kind of sediment and carbon filter on the outdoor hose, but I'm still working this out. I have my first set of tubs coming in the mail from amazon so I figured I would start this post to track my progress and for anyone else interested in doing something like this to follow along and learn with me from my mistakes and any success I have with this set up.
For those of you who have been keeping rice fish outdoors, what advice would you give for a for a first time outdoor pond keeper? Can't wait to hear from you guys!!
